Sony Ericsson: Two new UIQ on Symbian OS mainstream smartphones

Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Spain - 11 February, 2008 - Symbian Ltd. today welcomed Sony Ericsson's announcement of two new UIQ on Symbian OS mainstream smartphones. The G700 and G900 have personal organiser capabilities combined with easy finger-touch control, bringing users a media-rich experience without compromising on the size or shape of the phone. Both the G700 and G900 have regular keyboards and are no larger than a regular phone. Running on Symbian OS, the world's leading open mobile operating system, ensures the highest level of power efficiency and platform security.
The G700 is a compact personal organiser with large 2.4 inch display screen and a unique single-touch control menu. It features a 3.2 megapixel camera and has a simple touchscreen user interface based on UIQ for intuitive phone and web navigation, while offering easy access to a rich suite of applications.
The G900 includes all the features of the G700 with a 5.0 megapixel touch-auto focus camera, a touch photo album and editor, incorporating Wi-Fi connectivity and RSS feed functionality for high speed data transfer and internet browsing.
